Veterans

Re-integrating into civilian life after a tour in a war zone can be difficult.  It becomes even more difficult as the number of tours pile up.  As a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict, I experienced, for myself, how difficult it can be.  It was a long time before I stopped flinching at loud noises, was  uncomfortable in strange situations, or stopped eyeing strangers with suspicion, and that was after only one 12 month tour.

It is also difficult for your family and friends.  You have seen, smelled, tasted, heard, felt and done things that they could only imagine, and those things have changed you.  They thought that you would come back exactly the same as you left, and now you are a different person.  While you changed slowly over the length of your tour, their image of you remained the same right up until the moment you arrived home.  Now they need time to adjust to the changed you.

EFT, a technique similar to acupressure, is very useful in helping disconnect the negative emotions that are usually connected with the bothersome memories that the smells, tastes, sounds, and sights created.  Similar techniques can help your family and friends deal with the stress created when you came home different than they expected, and the stress of living with you while you are living with your memories.

Hypnotism, a very pleasant technique is also very effective in helping you, or your family and friends come to terms with how you’ve changed.

EFT, through energy manipulation, Hypnosis, through mind access, and NLP, through mind and body access, provide shortcuts in resolving the issues that are bothering you..

Bothersome memories, whether they come from battlefield horrors or from some other traumatic event, can be disconnected from the negative emotions that they generate.  Memories that are created while adrenalin is coursing through you body are especially bothersome.  They are vivid, and all the emotions that were present at the creation of the memory, are cemented to it, so that every time you remember it, you re-experience the emotions.  EFT is a gentle way to disconnect the two without resorting to drugs.

Insomnia is often the result of these memories re-surfacing when your mind no longer has something specific to focus on.  Disconnecting the memories from their related emotions can help you sleep better.  Learning self hypnosis can help you get to sleep faster, and sleep more soundly.

Fear is a mind killer.  Unreasonable fears, are doubly so, because they are not closely based on reality.  Because of the fight or flight response, less blood get to the brain, our mind shuts down so we react only by instinct.  That is not helpful to living a normal life.  However, there is a way out, a path to diminishing and maybe eliminating Fear.

Pain control is achieved with medication in our western medical model.  Pain is helpful when it tells us of an injury, or a changing body condition.  But when the condition has been addressed, and the pain continues, it is no longer helpful.  Pain has been effectively controlled by Hypnosis since the mid 1800’s.  A newer technique, EFT, is also effective.  There is a way out, a path to controlling Pain.

Relationships, successful relationships, are sometimes hard to re-establish.  Instead of talking out our problems, we assume, and “read each others mind”, when this happens, the relationship falls apart.  Relationships are important to a successful, fulfilled life.  There is a path to successful Relationships.
